Through the tunnel. Out into the world of imagination. Children have a special zen way of approaching self and time. Learning from Nilou. It’s fun!

There comes a time when the spotlight needs to be shared with a sibling. Rooms need to be shared. Clothes need to be handed down. But before all that the nest needs to be prepared again. Today the family found out (with all legal disclaiming about accuracy - somewhere in the nature of 70% certainty) that the balance of power has permanently shifted towards divine femininity, leaving Dad to wonder how best to navigate a house full of women… Something he was not raised to be familiar with… Nonetheless, the preparation really becomes about creating a safe and loving environment for both children to share. And this challenge both Dad, Mommy, and Nilou are up to… We SOOO look forward to our new addition… Another little girl!

So we are officially out of almost all our boxes. We are settled for the most part. Missing a few key furnishings and appliances, which is why our backs hurt and why you don’t want to stand downwind from us currently ;) Nilou’s help was integral in packing and moving as you can see from picture above.

So now that we are officially homeowners, the next big adventurous stage comes today web we find out more about who will be sharing a room with Nilou. We are currently at the doctor’s office. Stay tuned for an update!

While
Mommy and daddy sweat in the sun to prepare for our move in to our new home today… Across town Nilou tests the limits of childhood fun in her grandparents back yard. She will sleep well tonight in her new room for sure!

Mommy girls night out = daddy daughter date night = burgers and beer night = driving lessons in the parking lot = a night well spent.

Nilou has truly found her singing voice… And she has begun to exercise it though her simultaneous discovery of the musicality of the english alphabet. Finding comfort in the familiar melody that accompanies many of her favorite concepts; twinkling stars, mama and little bears, and now, well… Take a

Nilou continues to invent different ways to entertain herself, occupying the months until she has a larger audience in her sibling. The cucumber game seems to entertain… At least her… And us!

Father envies at a year and a half - it should be stated here that Dad’s expertise lie in the more brute, “Americanized” football - lucky for him due appreciates both with equal fervor. At least for the time being. We shall see which sports she gravitates towards in the future. For now we are happy to kick the ball around… With the occasional hug tackle, distant cousin to the slide tackle.

Ready to take off. Pacific northwest here we come! Going to see our favorite Mochi!!!

So Nilou has been keeping a secret for a little while. But she is just so darn excited by the news that he felt it would be a good time share with you all… In her words, “HAppy!” Are family is growing by +1. Nilou’s little brother
Or sister will be arriving in the end of September. Our family is indeed happy and looking forward to this new member and the adventure and joy they will bring with them. There is plenty of love to go around here. Nilou can’t wait!!!
